Great British Icons 24Ct-Gold Bank Note Collection Complete With Pure Gold Coin
Welcome to this listing of the London Mint Office's "Great British Icons" 24-carat Gold banknote collection, issued in 2019. This is the full and complete set and is both stunning and highly collectable. The set comes in 2 books, containing images and notes about a number of key British figures from history, who have all been immortalised on the relevant note. Contains a 2-part, pure copper One Pound bank note with Her Majesty on the front and Sir Isaac Newton on the reverse.
These are housed in strong and sturdy protective sleeves. The two pieces are 101mm x 50mm from a 2019 issue. The rest of the book is empty; this is because the pure copper version was issued as a'free gift to the nation', without a certificate of authenticity as the LMO don't issue certificates for free examples. I collected the pure Gold version in book 2, so book 1 is a very good quality accompaniment to the full set. "Great British Icons Gold Coin".
The banknotes are accompanied by a beautiful 26mm, 9-carat pure Gold coin weighing 8 grams and housed in a protective capsule. Intricately designed, the face of the coin displays an effigy of Britannia, while the reverse has Her Majesty's mint portrait and a denomination of Double Crown. The coin is struck to Proof quality, the very highest standard.
